1. Scope of this notice
Lychee Meds operates as a non-clinical platform that helps adults connect with independent licensed healthcare providers and pharmacy partners through third-party technology systems. Lychee Meds does not provide medical care, does not make clinical decisions, and does not create the provider-patient relationship.
Health information submitted during a medical intake, telehealth encounter, or patient portal experience may be protected health information under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996, commonly called HIPAA.
This notice is intended to explain where HIPAA responsibilities sit within the Lychee Meds experience and to help you identify the entities that may maintain protected health information.
2. Entities that may handle protected health information
Protected health information connected to care accessed through Lychee Meds may be handled by the following parties:
Licensed healthcare providers
Medical evaluations and prescribing decisions are made by independent licensed providers or provider groups. Those providers are responsible for clinical judgment, establishing the provider-patient relationship, and complying with laws that apply to their practice.
Technology platform partners
Bask Health Inc and Bask Health NY may provide secure technology infrastructure for intake forms, patient portal access, messaging, and telehealth workflows. Technology partners may maintain health information on behalf of licensed providers in accordance with applicable privacy and security requirements.
Pharmacy partners
When a prescription is issued, licensed or registered pharmacy partners handle dispensing, fulfillment, shipment, and pharmacy records as required by law and their own privacy practices.
3. Treatment, payment, and healthcare operations
Uses and disclosures of protected health information for treatment, payment, and healthcare operations are governed by the providers, pharmacies, and applicable technology partners involved in your care. Their Notices of Privacy Practices may describe how they use and disclose information for clinical care, billing, pharmacy fulfillment, quality assurance, compliance, and related operations.
Lychee Meds does not independently diagnose, treat, prescribe, dispense, or use protected health information to make clinical decisions.
4. Your HIPAA rights
Depending on the entity holding your health information, HIPAA may give you rights to request access, corrections, restrictions, confidential communications, an accounting of certain disclosures, and notice if a reportable breach occurs. You may also have the right to file a privacy complaint with the entity responsible for your protected health information.
The provider, pharmacy, or platform partner that maintains your health information can explain which rights apply and how to submit a request. Their notices may be provided during intake, in the patient portal, or through direct communications.
5. Role of Lychee Meds
Lychee Meds may provide non-clinical support such as platform access, customer service, billing support, order-status coordination, and general administrative assistance. Lychee Meds does not provide medical advice, approve treatment, or decide whether a medication is appropriate.
Please do not send urgent medical concerns or detailed clinical information to Lychee Meds by general email. Medical questions should be directed to the licensed provider through the patient portal or other secure care channel made available to you.
If Lychee Meds receives health-related information incidentally through support communications, we use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect that information and route it appropriately.
6. Security and privacy safeguards
Lychee Meds expects its service partners to use safeguards appropriate to the information they maintain. No electronic system can be guaranteed to be perfectly secure, but the parties involved in care should use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect health information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure.
7. Questions
For questions about protected health information held by a provider, pharmacy, or patient portal, please review the Notice of Privacy Practices provided by that entity or contact them through the patient portal.
